You probably get this question a lot, but where do you guys get your armor and other Roman gear? I've been looking around he internet for a while, and I'm not sure I trust sites like Dark Knight armory or others of the like, and you guys obviously have a lot of the gear, so it would make sense for me to ask you guys.
Hello, there are some good reenactors shop like armae.com, armamentaria.com, armillum.com owned by reenactors (and sell lot of "factory"/series made stuff) and also romanarmytalk.com its a forum of antique reenactors (Rome, Greek, Celts, Germans) where you can meet lot of craftsmens who make items on demand and really experienced hardcore reenactors. And also if you are member of "RAT" you have sales on armae, armamentaria and armillum shops... I hope it can help You, if You need more just ask
Nice to hear that Before you buy something please try to ask on RAT about authenticity and if its item OK for period you want to do Before you buy some crap, better start correctly and use your money wise to improve whole community
complimenti davvero che lavoraccio che ci deve essere su ogni armatura e decorazione...di sicuro anche molto costosa io ho avuto il piacere di far rievocazione con gruppi di romani poche volte ...č un peccato che non ce ne siano di +...
oh sorry XD i didn't tought to go to see if you were italian ...sorry
there must be a really big job on every armor and decoration ... certainly very expensive I had the pleasure of being with groups of Roman re-enactment a few times ... it's a shame that there aren' more there
thanks yes lot of work, but its our pason I have some friends in italian reenactment groups - sister cohors of our unit - Cohors II Praetoria and Cohors III Praetoria - very elite reenactors, one of the best in Europe (but its not often - is strange and sad that in Italy arent many good roman reenactment groups)
I know first Italica In my country is also many celtic groups because of many celtic history here, we cooperate with group Keltoi which have own small archeopark in village Prášily in Šumava mountains (also called Bohmenwald or Bohemian forest) in National park - ancient name was Gabreta (Mountains of capricorns)- there are many celtic ruins - the Czech republic - Bohemia or Boiohameum is called from celtic tribe of Boii - is part of origin homeland of celts - 2 kilometers from my home ( I live in Prague) is place called Závist (it means envy) and there is the biggest celtic oppidum of central Europe.
What items were there, maybe I know few of them? Stone head of some warrior?
By the way, if You want I can provide contact to this archeopark if You like to visit or make some type of cooperation with group Keltoi - I think that they will happy if they have some friend group from foreign country for own events in archeopark and for visiting events in Italy.
